The 86th Academy Awards ceremony is set to take place in just three days on Sunday, March 2. If you’re not already excited to cheer on your favorite stars and movies of the past year, then here’s some news that will certainly get you into it or at least perk up your day (if you don’t fancy yourself an Oscar fan): Ellen DeGeneres’ pet food company, Halo, Purely for Pets, in partnership with Freekibble.com, is giving away 200,000 meals to shelter animals, with a voucher for 10,000 meals in every Oscar swag bag.

Now, that’s a real treat!

Oscar swag bags are traditionally handed out to nominees who do not leave the event with a golden award in hand. This year’s bags contain a whooping $80,000 in loot including a $9,000 trip to Las Vegas and a $16,000 hair restoration surgery, however we think DeGeneres’ company donation certainly takes the cake.

Together with the 10,000 meal card in every bag — valued at $6,100 and to be given to the shelter of the star’s choosing — each nominee will also receive some pet products for their beloved four legged companions courtesy of Halo including Spot’s Stew food and Live-a-Littles treats, as Dog Tripper reports.

“We know many celebrities are extremely generous,” said David Yaskulka, Halo’s vice president of marketing communications. “So we decided to gift them with something different that we think will mean a lot to them. We’re looking forward to making those donations!”

Here, here!

This act of generosity adds to an already big list of kind moves by both Halo and Freekibble.com, who together donate 1.5 million meals to shelter pets every year. Woohoo!
