Kale is a powerhouse green that we love, whether eaten in kale chip form or as a salad. Though kale chips are certainly tasty, try eating it raw instead. Its bitter taste on it own is not so pleasant, but, thankfully, there are several ways to jazz up that superfood with flavor. Check out these tips for how to liven up raw kale:
Chop and clean a few cups of kale, then combine it with whatever other raw fruits and veggies you prefer. Kale makes a great green base for a salad, and it’s far more nutritious than iceberg lettuce. Make any one of these delicious and easy-to-mix salad dressings, then drizzle it over a salad full of kale. Perhaps you’re not a salad person and the idea of eating raw kale (even with dressing) repulses you. For a non-salad approach, try blending kale into your hummus. You might not even taste the kale hiding in there, even though these ingredients may as well be for a salad bowl!

Then, thinly slice or grate vegetables like beets, carrots and yellow bell pepper so you have a colorful array of thinly slices veggies. Hide the taste of kale completely by blending it with almond milk, frozen fruit, a small banana and flax seeds. It’s easy to get in a cup or two of kale when you’re putting it into a smoothie. You can pour an oily dressing over your raw kale, but an alternative way to eat it is by massaging with your preferred dressing.
